How to Make a Classic Cosmopolitan
Ever want to impress that special someone? Maybe it's your anniversary, date night, or your special new Valentine, but a classic beverage that has stood the test of time is a Cosmopolitan. Classic Cosmopolitan with a Twist and Cherries
Ingredients
3 ounces vodka or gin
1 ounce cranberry juice cocktail
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce triple sec
a twist of orange rind (garnish)
2 Maraschino cherries (optional garnish)
One container with a lid and some crushed ice
A slotted spoon or sieve
Method
1) Combine the vodka or gin with the cranberry juice, lime juice, and triple sec in a small bowl.
2) Place the crushed ice in the container until it is chilled.
3) Pour the mixed ingredients over the ice.
4) Place on the top and shake well.
5) Cut a strip of the rind of an orange about three inches
6) Twist it into a spiral shape
7) Drain two Maraschino cherries per glass
8) Place some ice in a Martini glass until chilled
9) With a slotted spoon, or sieve, pour the Cosmopolitan into the glass
10) Add your twist to the side of the glass or float on the top
11) Also float the two cherries and serve cold with or before your main course
