Have you ever wanted to have that perfectly fluffy rice to serve with your favorite meal? I will share with you my favorite recipe for perfectly steamed rice. There are many variations to rice, from Pilaf, to Risotto, to Paella, and beyond. Sometimes however, you just want that simple steamy gorgeous white long grain rice to compliment the sauces, and main courses you have created. Enjoy!

Ingredients

One cup long grain white rice

Two cups water

Three to four tablespoons unsalted butter melted

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt

Method

1) In a large sauce pan melt the unsalted butter and add the salt and the pepper. Do not brown, only melt the butter on very low heat. At this same low heat, the washed and picked clean rice. Make sure that all of grains are completely coated with the melted butter and seasonings.

2) Add the two cups of water and bring to a boil. Try not to stir the grains too much. The moment the water boils, reduce to low heat and add the cover firmly. Simmer for 20 minutes without lifting the lid or stirring.

3) Turn off the heat and let the rice stand with the lid on for an additional ten to fifteen minutes. Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork before transferring it to a serving dish, cover tightly until serving.
